MONDAY - JULY 21, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Chest, Back, and Balls
I did Band Pulldowns instead of Pullups and that seemed to help me get through. The Pulldowns aren't as effective as Pullups, but I can't do Pullups properly, so they are a better option. Plus, I do get results. The Pushup moves went OK. I couldn't get settled on the stability ball on the "Possible" Pushups and only got two very weak ones in. However, on the Military version, with two balls in front, I was able to get the back settled and got 20 in. I'm careful with the rest for fear of slipping off the medicine balls and hurting my wrists, but I got them in.Start Time: 6:35 pm; Workout Time: 60 minutes; Calories Burned: 335; Avg Heart Rate:104.
TUESDAY - JULY 22, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Plyocide
I can't really jump "up" because of my feet, so this one was tough trying to figure out how to modify. I did what I could.
Start Time: 7:00 pm; Workout Time: 66 minutes; Calories Burned: 314; Avg Heart Rate:97.
WEDNESDAY - JULY 23, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Shoulders and Arms: MC2
Pretty good. I used the same weights I'd used the last few times. I screwed up a bit early because I did straight Military Presses instead of Arnold Presses on the first two go arounds, but corrected it on the third. Big difference, as the Arnold Presses are much harder. The rest went OK. The only thing I don't do is keep my static hand at a 90 degree angle on the Crazy 8's. My arm drops real quick.
Start Time: 7:00 pm; Workout Time: 58 minutes; Calories Burned: 330; Avg Heart Rate:108.
THURSDAY - JULY 24, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Yoga: MC2
One thing I promised myself when starting this blog was that I'd be honest when needing to be. I don't like this workout. It's too long. Too many moves are unnecessarily repeated, and it just seems like a Tony ego trip that he's forcing us to follow along with. I sat through about the first 10 minutes of the second section because I was pissed off, and for much of the rest of the workout I was just thinking of how to blast the workout in my blog. That's how bad my mind got. I understand part of my frustration is because I have problems doing a lot of the moves anymore, and part if it isn't. Yoga is supposed to be relaxing, at least mentally, and this one isn't for me. I I just can't get there with this thing.
Start Time: 6:15 pm; Workout Time: 66 minutes; Calories Burned: 296; Avg Heart Rate:98.
FRIDAY - JULY 25, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Base and Back
A lot of modifying. I can't jump at all, so that affected the plyo moves, and I can no longer do unassisted pullups, so I id band pulldown instead. Not perfect, and much easier, but that's what I had to do.
Start Time: 6:25 pm; Workout Time: 51 minutes; Calories Burned: 211; Avg Heart Rate:95.
SATURDAY - JULY 26, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Total Body X
This went OK. I did what I could. I did try doing the Jump Knee Tucks but found out later it seems to be really damaging my feet and legs. The same thing happened when I did them yesterday, but I didn't put two and two together at the time. Now that I have, I need to stop doing them.
Start Time: 5:10 pm; Workout Time: 42 minutes; Calories Burned: 245; Avg Heart Rate:105.
SUNDAY - JULY 27, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - ARX2
Not much to say. I got through the moves OK. My legs were hurting real bad from the beating they took the last two days, so when I was on my back with my feet up in the air, it became excruciatingly painful.
Start Time: 7:45 pm; Workout Time: 45 minutes; Calories Burned: 171; Avg Heart Rate: 93.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 167.8 (-1.2 lbs)
Body Fat: 16.0% (no change)
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
Not bad. Month 3 / Volume 3's workouts are generally a consistent step above. I got though them without getting too overwhelmed. There are things I can't do that maybe I used to, but I understand that.
