WEEK OF 12/23/2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - ROUND 6 - WEEK 13

MONDAY - DECEMBER 23, 2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - Cardio 24

Start of a "recovery week" to finish the round out. I actually went pretty hard at this one, even though it's really not that hard. I did the Burpees on the first move to get it out of the way early. That got my blood pumping a bit and got me into things more than I normally would have. A good start to the week as far as I'm concerned,

Start Time: 7:40 pm; Workout Time: 26 minutes; Calories Burned: 167; Avg Heart Rate: 106.

TUESDAY - DECEMBER 24, 2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - Pure Stretch

It was a bit cold in the house as I was starting, so I was wearing a baggy sweatshirt and slippers. I decided to try the workout without changing into my workout clothes, so I left those on. It was Ok, but a bit uncomfortable. Stretching went OK.

Start Time: 6:55 pm; Workout Time: 48 minutes; Calories Burned: 212; Avg Heart Rate: 98.

WEDNESDAY - DECEMBER 25, 2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - Cardio 24

Pretty much a repeat of Monday's workout, effort wise. I felt good about it. I like this routine. It's not too tough, but you can work up a sweat if you really push yourself. Sean and Christina are two of my favorite cast members. Christina cracks me up trying to convince herself to "power down". The captions are also a good tough here too.

Start Time: 8:00 pm; Workout Time: 26 minutes; Calories Burned: 168; Avg Heart Rate: 107.

THURSDAY - DECEMBER 26, 2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - Pure Stretch

Went back to the regular workout clothes and shoes. It just felt better. The stretch went good, but still a bit tighter than the old days on a few things, like the twists and wide legged stretches.

Start Time: 6:50 pm; Workout Time: 48 minutes; Calories Burned: 176; Avg Heart Rate: 96.

FRIDAY - DECEMBER 27, 2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - Cardio 24

Good workout. It's quick. In and out, and you get out of it what you put into it. Today was a bit above average..

Start Time: 7:25 pm; Workout Time: 26 minutes; Calories Burned: 175; Avg Heart Rate: 110.

SATURDAY - DECEMBER 28, 2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - Pure Stretch

Last workout of the round. I wasn't feeling well going into it, but I got through it OK. I just got some Xero Shoes "slippers" which I used, and they worked OK in the downward dogs, which leads me to believe I might be able to use them for yoga possibly. I'm still not as stretchy as I'd like, but it's something to work on.

Start Time: 6:40 pm; Workout Time: 48 minutes; Calories Burned: 239; Avg Heart Rate: 101.

SUNDAY - DECEMBER 29, 2024 - THE POWER OF 4 - Rest

SUNDAY WEIGH IN

Weight: 169.4 (-2.4 lbs)
Body Fat: 15.9% (-0.2%)

THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

I like how I'd set up the final "recovery week" with these two workouts. It worked out very, very well. Cardio 24 is sneaky effective and Pure Stretch is just what it is, but needed after 12 weeks of beating up your body. The weight loss was a bonus. I honestly never know what the plus or minus is going to be each week. All I can do is eat better. The scale numbers are there, but not the final determination of how I feel.

WEIGH IN FOR THE ROUND

Weight: +2.2 lbs
Body Fat: no change

THOUGHTS FOR THE ROUND

I feel good about it. I started it with only a two week rest after the previous round. I usually go a few weeks more than that for mental reasons and to let my body rest a bit, but I wanted to finish the round before the new year, and I did that  On most of the strength workout days I really pushed myself. I can feel like my arms seem a bit bigger and my back seems a bit thicker. Both are those are notable feelings. Whether they are or not is moot. I worked hard. The cardio and plyo days are a bit different because of the situation with my feet (neuropathy) and my lack of balance. Most times I just do what I can do. It's tough to try and improve things because of the way it is, but there were days when I tried. I still need to work on my nutrition. That is something I can control., and really didn't concentrate on it enough. Obviously, it's very important. Overall, I was very, very happy with the round.
