WEEK OF 08/18/2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - ROUND 8 - WEEK 13

MONDAY - AUGUST 18, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Fountain of Youth

Last week of the round. All yoga. This might be my favorite of the three yoga routines. It has a bit of everything, but not too much. I stayed relaxed and took it one move at a time, and that worked well. Partially enjoyable.

Start Time: 7:05 pm; Workout Time: 47 minutes; Calories Burned: 180; Avg Heart Rate:93.

TUESDAY - AUGUST 19, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Patience Hummingbird

Much like yesterday. I was somewhat relaxed and took it one move at a time.

Start Time: 7:30 pm; Workout Time: 36 minutes; Calories Burned: 148; Avg Heart Rate: 95.

WEDNESDAY - AUGUST 20, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Yoga: MC2

Not as good as the last two days. I was off a bit, not as relaxed, and it was just a long workout, which didn't help.

Start Time: 6:50 pm; Workout Time: 66 minutes; Calories Burned: 249; Avg Heart Rate: 92.

THURSDAY - AUGUST 21, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Yoga: MC2

I like to do this one back to back during yoga week, so I can get it out of the way. Plus, I'd rather finish with Fountain of Youth, rather than dreading this one later in the week. Today was better than yesterday, but not as good as Monday or Tuesday's workouts. I did learn one thing, however. On the dreaded leaning over Shoulder Stretches, I found if I clasped my hands like he does, rather than not, I was able to bend over farther and keep my balance a bit better. At least that's what happened today.

Start Time: 7:25 pm; Workout Time: 66 minutes; Calories Burned: 406; Avg Heart Rate: 106.

FRIDAY - AUGUST 22, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Patience Hummingbird

Better. Much like Tuesday's workout. It helps that it's a shorter routine. My mind was in a better place than the last two days.

Start Time: 6:25 pm; Workout Time: 36 minutes; Calories Burned: 150; Avg Heart Rate: 95.

SATURDAY - AUGUST 23, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Fountain of Youth

This was the last workout of the round. I like this routine because it covers a lot of things without being totally repetitive. I had bought this one as a standalone well before I bought the three volumes in their entirety, so it's like an old friend. For that reason, I like finishing the round with it. Sort of a respect thing, and I'm able to relax with it. However, today, I struggled a bit. I ate an extra huge salad before the workout and it was sitting in my stomach and slowing me down a bit. I labored through a lot of the workout and was constantly watching the clock to see how much time left. I did get through it though. Not a great finish to the round, but a respectful one, in that it wasn't easy.

Start Time: 6:25 pm; Workout Time: 47 minutes; Calories Burned: 300; Avg Heart Rate:107.

SUNDAY - AUGUST 24, 2025 - Rest

SUNDAY WEIGH IN

Weight: 166.0 (+0.6 lbs)
Body Fat: 15.4% (no change)

THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

I really like finishing the round this way, with all yoga. You'd think it might be overdoing it, but it just works so well.

THOUGHTS FOR THE ROUND

At the beginning I was thinking I hadn't given myself enough rest after finishing the previous round, but the more I got into it, the better it seemed to be. This One On One series just seems perfect to me, and is by far my favorite workout program. I feel a bit stronger and a bit thicker, especially in my shoulders and back. And I'm not even doing standard pullups. I'm doing Band Pulldowns instead. Once again, I'm very please with how it went. I did learn how to modify moves, and I was OK with it. I didn't feel like I was cheating because I physically can't do some of the moves. You do what you can. Overall, I dropped 4.8 lbs and 1.3% body fat, which are good numbers. Some of that is due to the fact I've been working from home and eating better, but it's still good. I'll take a few weeks off, and might look at doing one of Tony's new Power Nation programs when I get back at it.

WEEK OF 08/11/2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - ROUND 8 - WEEK 12

MONDAY - AUGUST 11, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - UBX

Pretty good. Not much else to say. I started the Shoulder Presses with 30's.

Start Time: 7:25 pm; Workout Time: 60 minutes; Calories Burned: 396; Avg Heart Rate:113.

TUESDAY - AUGUST 12, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Core Synergistics: MC2

I decided beforehand that I was going to modify where I could. It worked well and I actually got done more than I usually do.

Start Time: 7:20 pm; Workout Time: 67 minutes; Calories Burned: 332; Avg Heart Rate: 101.

WEDNESDAY - AUGUST 13, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - V-Sculpt

I like this one because there are a few moves that use resistance bands. They seem to be effective. I started the Strip Sets with 30's and increased the one arm concentration curls to 30's. Both went OK.

Start Time: 8:05 pm; Workout Time: 56 minutes; Calories Burned: 297; Avg Heart Rate: 103.

THURSDAY - AUGUST 14, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Yoga: MC2

Instead of whipping myself into a pissed off frenzy, I replaced some of the redundant moves with things I felt were more relaxing. I've been seeing a lot of videos lately about a program that emphasizes mobility, especially in the hips, so instead to doing all the extra shoulder stretches, I got into a low squat and pushed my knees out with my elbows. I got in a few extra Child Poses, and did a bit of a Shavasana near the end. It didn't calm me down a lot, but did a bit.

Start Time: 8:05 pm; Workout Time: 66 minutes; Calories Burned: 232; Avg Heart Rate: 103.

FRIDAY - AUGUST 15, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - P.A.P.

Long day. I got started a bit later than usual, but I wanted to just relax and watch a WNBA game, so I did the workout without the video, and I only did the two complexes. I skipped the long warmup and cooldown. I feel I still got a good workout in, though. I really, really struggle with the Front to Back Lunges because my balance is so horrible. I did what I could, and used 20lb weights. I used 25's on the Pushup Rows. I modified of few of the other moves.

Start Time: 8:25 pm; Workout Time: 31 minutes; Calories Burned: 208; Avg Heart Rate: 111.

SATURDAY - AUGUST 16, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Stretch and Recovery

I was very sore and not very flexible going into it, especially in my legs. Early on, I ditched what he was doing and instead did what I felt I needed. I did a few leg stretches. did some foam rolling on my legs, relaxed in Child Pose a few times, did Frog Squat and Frog, and did some other stretches he usually doesn't do in this program. At the end I felt very good, and more importantly, very mentally relaxed. Much needed. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to go off the beaten path and do what YOU need.

Start Time: 7:30 pm; Workout Time: 69 minutes; Calories Burned: 152; Avg Heart Rate: 85.

SUNDAY - AUGUST 17, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - ARX2

I did it off the worksheets again, with no video, doing the moves I don't like (Superman Banana, The Buddhist) at the beginning and sort of working backwards. It went pretty good.

Start Time: 8:55 pm; Workout Time: 31 minutes; Calories Burned: 152; Avg Heart Rate: 100.

SUNDAY WEIGH IN

Weight: 165.2 (+0.8 lbs)
Body Fat: 15.4% (-0.1%)

THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

This was the end of month three and the "strength" workouts for the round. I feel strong and a bit thicker in my upper body. I'm pleased. I'm also sore as hell, but that's OK.

WEEK OF 08/04/2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - ROUND 8 - WEEK 11

MONDAY - AUGUST 4, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Chest. Back, and Balls

I did band pulldowns on all the pullup moves. 16 reps of each. On the pushup moves, I did OK, but not great. I got in zero of the "Possibles". I just couldn't get situated on the back ball, and tried for about two minutes. On the move with two balls in the front and stability in the back, I got in 28 reps, as I was able to get onto the back ball.

Start Time: 8:05 pm; Workout Time: 60 minutes; Calories Burned: 362; Avg Heart Rate:106.

TUESDAY - AUGUST 5, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Plyocide

My legs were killing me two weeks ago after I did this and Base and Back, and I realized it may have been from the jarring my legs were taking by me trying to jump and not being able to land softly. Today, instead of trying to jump and get off the floor, I simply squatted lower. It actually felt good, as if I was doing the right thing instead of trying to prove something that was detrimental.

Start Time: 6:15 pm; Workout Time: 66 minutes; Calories Burned: 326; Avg Heart Rate:97.

WEDNESDAY - AUGUST 6, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Shoulders and Arms: MC2

Very good workout. Last time I screwed up the Arnold Presses by doing Military's instead. Today I corrected that. I got 12 reps in on the first and third sets with 25's, but only eight reps in on the second set because I don't think I'd rested enough. Lesson learned. I used the regular weights on the rest of the moves and they still challenged me a bit.

Start Time: 7:00 pm; Workout Time: 58 minutes; Calories Burned: 367; Avg Heart Rate:113.

THURSDAY - AUGUST 7, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - YOGA: MC2

Two weeks ago I went on a tirade after doing this workout, then mellowed out a bit last week. Today, let me say that I got through it, did most of the moves, but still think it's too friggin' long. When I got near the end I pretty much sat through the half moon sections because I'd just had enough.

Start Time: 6:40 pm; Workout Time: 66 minutes; Calories Burned: 369; Avg Heart Rate:103.

FRIDAY - AUGUST 4, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Base and Back

As I did on Tuesday, I mellowed out the plyo moves by squatting deeper but not getting off the floor. Same thinking. Again, I was very happy I did it. As usual I did band pulldowns instead of pullups. When doing those I concentrate on activating my back muscles and they work out well. In the end, my modifications make this workout a lot easier than Tony's version, but it's what is right for me at this point, and I'm totally fine with that. Leaving the ego at the door.

Start Time: 8:00 pm; Workout Time: 51 minutes; Calories Burned: 248; Avg Heart Rate:100.

SATURDAY - AUGUST 4, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - Total Body X

There are a few moves (Frog Burpees, Spartan Squats, Jump Knee Tucks) in this thing that I don't like, so I got them out of the way during the warmup so I could enjoy the rest of the workout. It still winded me, but it worked out fine. On the Jump Knee Tucks I didn't jump, but went real low in the squat, just as I had on Tuesday's and Friday's.plyo moves

Start Time: 7:00 pm; Workout Time: 42 minutes; Calories Burned: 245; Avg Heart Rate:106.

SUNDAY - AUGUST 10, 2025 - TONY HORTON ONE ON ONE - ARX2

I went off the worksheets instead of using te video. Of course it went a lot faster. I did OK on most of the moves. Realized I screwed up the Rolling Oblique C V-Ups afterwards (I didn't roll).

Start Time: 7:55 pm; Workout Time: 28 minutes; Calories Burned: 145; Avg Heart Rate:102.

SUNDAY WEIGH IN

Weight: 164.4 (-0.6 lbs)
Body Fat: 15.5% (+0.5%)

Expected increase on the body fat, as there was too big of a drop last week.

THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

Good workouts. I was really proud of myself on the modifications I made on the two plyo days. My legs aren't hurting nearly as much as two weeks ago, but my muscles are still sore.
