MONDAY - FEBRUARY 24, 2014 - Total Synergistics
A bit of a reverse from how I finished last week. I went into the workout feeling good, and I actually did pretty good. Not perfect, but I got things done. I ate well all day today, so I'm hoping that had something to do with it.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 338; Avg Heart Rate: 130; Max Heart Rate: 219.
TUESDAY - FEBRUARY 25, 2014 - Agility X
Another good one. I hadn't done this workout in 6 weeks, but I remember struggling with it in the first phase of this round. Today I seemed to pick up and execute the moves much quicker. The Plyo Pushups at the end were killers and I struggled with those.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 319; Avg Heart Rate: 126; Max Heart Rate: 155.
WEDNESDAY - FEBRUARY 26, 2014 - X3 Yoga
Tried my best again today. You would think after 6 years of not being able to balance on one foot I'd accept it, but I don't, and I still try to find that sweet spot where it works. I haven't found it yet, but I'll keep trying. Slipped a bit on the eating today. Had a couple Root Beers and some fries at lunch, but I'm focused on the eating this week, and will recover.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 235; Avg Heart Rate: 110; Max Heart Rate: 131.
THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 27, 2014 - The Challenge
I got home from work, took a quick nap, and wondered how I was ever going to complete this workout, even though I knew I would. I chose to do 26 pushups and 6 unassisted pullups. 6 unassisted pullups sound ridiculously low, but I've really, really been struggling with them lately, and there's many times when 6 is too much for me. Once I got started, I surprised myself a bit. I had strength on the pullups, getting my chin way over the bar, and on most sets I did all 6 without coming down to the floor. The pushups weren't really a problem either, until I got to the staggered ones. By then my arms were so burned out, I wasn't going as low on them as I had been on the other ones. On the last set I got 22 in, rested on my knees for a few seconds, then finished out the last 4. I'm typing this a few hours after finishing and I still feel pumped. I'm very happy with the workout. Still trying to eat good.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 334; Avg Heart Rate: 129; Max Heart Rate: 158.
FRIDAY - FEBRUARY 28, 2014 - CVX
I'm on a roll. I remember doing this in month one and it killed me. I got winded at times today, but don't think I had to stop more than once or twice. The times I did stop was in the March and Reach, and that was only because my shoulders were fried from yesterday's pushups and pullups. I used an 8 lb medicine ball for all the moves, and once again, I got a great calorie burn for the time involved.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 376; Avg Heart Rate: 137; Max Heart Rate: 160.
SATURDAY - MARCH 1, 2014 - The Warrior
This might have been my worst workout of the week. I went out with a few friends last night and had a few lite beers and a couple diet cokes. I was feeling a bit sluggish most of the day and wasn't real motivated to get it done. However, I still did better than usual. I kept working, but may have done a few less reps on a few of the exercises than those on the video, especially on the burpee/sprawl moves. I'm still pleased, though.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 308; Avg Heart Rate: 125; Max Heart Rate: 153.
SUNDAY - MARCH 2, 2014 - X3 Ab Ripper
I finished off the week with another fine effort. I didn't come out of any of the moves. I did go back into plank quicker than those on the video on some of the Oblique Plank Crunches, but that's only because I wasn't watching the screen and thought I was missing Tony's cues. Otherwise, I was right there with them.
Time: 15 minutes; Calories Burned: 106; Avg Heart Rate: 115; Max Heart Rate: 136.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 196.8 (-0.6 lbs)
Body Fat: 22.0% (+0.1%)
Disappointing to say the least. I thought I ate pretty good this week. Not perfect by any means, but much better than in the past. Plus. I rocked my workouts. All I can do is keep doing the right things, and the results will eventually show.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
Despite the disappointing weigh in, my workouts were the best they'd been in a long time, so overall I'm happy with the week. I'm still sore from Chest and Back (The Challenge), which means something is working.

P90X3 - WEEK 8 - Week of 02/17/2014
MONDAY - FEBRUARY 17, 2014 - Isometrix
Tough one for me with the balancing, but I did my best. I actually held the Moon Dog on my right leg for about 20 seconds. Doesn't sound like much, but for me it's an accomplishment.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 208; Avg Heart Rate: 105; Max Heart Rate: 125.
TUESDAY - FEBRUARY 18, 2014 - Dynamix
This went OK. I liked the second half better than the first, which was mostly plank work.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 156; Avg Heart Rate: 103; Max Heart Rate: 128.
WEDNESDAY - FEBRUARY 19, 2014 - Accelerator
Worked up a good sweat on this one. Getting stressed at work again and starting to eat like crap again because of it. Need to stop it.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 282; Avg Heart Rate: 122; Max Heart Rate: 146.
THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 20, 2014 - Pilates X
I thoroughly enjoyed this workout today. My range of motion needs work, but I was able to do a bit more than I'd expected, especially on The Pretzel move. This might be my favorite workout of X3.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 124; Avg Heart Rate: 96; Max Heart Rate: 116.
FRIDAY - FEBRUARY 21, 2014 - Decelerator
Not my best effort today. My intentions were good and I felt good going in, but I just didn't have it for some of the moves, especially the pushups. Not sure why, but there are days like that. As usual, most of the balance moves were tough for me, as were the pullups. I guess that doesn't leave a whole lot left that I did well, does it?. This reminded me a bit of a P90X+ workout, where you're working your entire body.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 286; Avg Heart Rate: 121; Max Heart Rate: 152.
SATURDAY - FEBRUARY 22, 2014 - X3 Yoga
Same situation as yesterday. Good intentions, but not my best yoga workout. My balance was bad, as was my flexibility. Not going to let it get me down. I did my best.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 240; Avg Heart Rate: 110; Max Heart Rate: 129.
SUNDAY - FEBRUARY 23, 2014 - Scheduled Rest Day
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 197.4 (+2.2 lbs)
Body Fat: 21.9% (+0.1%)
Going the wrong way. Seriously have to make a decision as to why I'm doing all this.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
On many of the workouts this week I just didn't "have it". Call it a lack of focus or whatever. I'm discouraged by the weight gain. Again, my fault. All I can do is regroup and move forward, but I do need to find my focus, otherwise it's not going to work.

P90X3 - WEEK 7 - Week of 02/10/2014
MONDAY - FEBRUARY 10, 2014 - Eccentric Upper
Still not feeling 100%. I was actually thinking of taking the entire week off. I'm burned out both physical and mentally. There was only one time before where I took off a week in the middle of a program and that was because I physically couldn't work out because I was sick and bedridden for several days. So... I sucked it up and got the workout done. This workout is tough because you are killing your upper body and there's relatively little rest time between exercises, and I don't hit the pause button. I did Ok. Actually, pretty good for the way I was feeling.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 355; Avg Heart Rate: 134; Max Heart Rate: 211.
TUESDAY - FEBRUARY 11, 2014 - Triometrics
Felt good today for the first time in a long time. The cold is still lingering, but I seemed to have more energy today. Today at work I was carrying countless boxes of files up and down stairs, which got my heart pumping and my blood moving. Usually I spend all day at my desk, so maybe that contributed to my extra energy. Anyways, the workout went better than last week, and certainly better than the week before. I'm still horrible on the balance moves, but I improved a wee bit, which is encouraging.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 295; Avg Heart Rate: 121; Max Heart Rate: 151.
WEDNESDAY - FEBRUARY 12, 2014 - X3 Yoga
By far, this was my best X3 Yoga workout. Again, my balance was a slight bit better, but the big thing was that I was more flexible than I had been in the past. I went into Camel for the first time in X3 Yoga, and on the Birddog move I was able to reach behind and grab my ankle. For the last week or so I've been drinking the P90X Recovery formula and I've been feeling more energetic. I'd never tried it before. I don't know if that's what it is that's making me feel better, or what it is, but I'll keep testing it out.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 199; Avg Heart Rate: 101; Max Heart Rate: 120.
THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 13, 2014 - Eccentric Lower
Today begins the second half of the 90 days. This one went OK. There's not much to it and it's certainly not the toughest workout, but it still challenges me because many of the moves require one legged balance, and mine is almost non-existent. Something to work on. I'm still feeling pretty energetic. I took some P90X Recovery formula before I went to bed last night and I was awake for quite a while, so I may have to watch when I drink it.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 234; Avg Heart Rate: 110; Max Heart Rate: 136.
FRIDAY - FEBRUARY 14, 2014 - Incinerator
I'm still feeling pretty good. Today's workout went really well. I felt stronger than I have in a long time, and didn't get too winded.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 260; Avg Heart Rate: 116; Max Heart Rate: 153.
SATURDAY - FEBRUARY 15, 2014 - MMX
Another good workout. I kept putting it off during the day, then finally got into it in the early evening. I was really going full blast early on. I felt good and the moves were flowing easily. I tried keeping up the intensity throughout the workout, and did so, but I had the go to my knees for the second set of the scramble move. I was just out of gas. However, I finished strong, and kept up with the gang during the Burnout. I feel good.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 316; Avg Heart Rate: 125; Max Heart Rate: 158.
SUNDAY - FEBRUARY 16, 2014 - X3 Ab Ripper
I did good on this one. I never had to go down to the floor on any of the moves. Not on the Dolphin Hops, the Planks, the Bridge Burners, or the Mixed Bikes.
Time: 15 minutes; Calories Burned: 126; Avg Heart Rate: 112; Max Heart Rate: 133.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 195.2 (-0.2 lbs)
Body Fat: 21.8% (no change)
Still trying to eat better.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
I'm not sure if it's the Recovery Formula I've just started using, or the fact my cold is wearing off, but I felt this week's workouts were my best in a long time. I had more energy and I felt much stronger. I'm very happy with the week.

P90X3 - WEEK 6 - Week of 02/03/2014
MONDAY - FEBRUARY 3, 2014 - Eccentric Upper
Feeling the beginnings of a cold coming on, upset stomach, and weak. I was debating whether to even do the workout today, but I got it in. I was dreading each move and cursing the lack of time in between each of them. I stayed with the 25 lb weights on the heavier moves, and 15's on the lighter ones. I struggled to the end, but finished.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 335; Avg Heart Rate: 131; Max Heart Rate: 200.
TUESDAY - FEBRUARY 4, 2014 - Triometrics
My energy level was low because of my cold. I hated this workout last week because I couldn't physically do a lot of the balance moves, which is probably 40% of the workout. Today I tried to go in with a fresh attitude. I'm still not a fan and I still got real frustrated at times, but I did try modifying some of the moves by using a chair or by using less range of motion. I can't believed I burned 346 calories. I'm guessing my heart rate may have been inflated because of the cold.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 346; Avg Heart Rate: 131; Max Heart Rate: 155.
WEDNESDAY - FEBRUARY 5, 2014 - X3 Yoga
Not my greatest Yoga workout. I was stiff as a board on many of the flexibility exercises, but that was today. Sometimes it's like that. I'm typing this hours after I finished my workout, and just before I go to bed. I'm not feeling too good about my progress. Maybe some of it is because my cold is wearing on me, but I feel like I'm going through the motions. I simply can't eat well. Too much junk food available all day long, and I fall for it. This makes me depressed and not excited about doing the workouts at all. When I started this thing over five years ago I was motivated by the weight loss. Last year I bought a new scale because the old one didn't seem too accurate, and the new one had me 10 lbs heavier than the old one. The new one is probably correct. I've now lost that frame of reference for my starting point. How much have I really lost? I know that's not the entire point, but it was a motivating factor, and I seem to have lost it. Because of this, I'm no longer motivated to lose the weight, and instead dreadful that I'll put more weight on. This stresses me out and leads to more poor eating. A vicious cycle I need to get myself out of. When I started P90X3 near the beginning of the year I was looking upon it as a brand new start. A new starting reference so to speak. I'm now halfway through my 6th week, and I'm exactly where I started. Needed to put this in writing. Maybe it'll help.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 215; Avg Heart Rate: 113; Max Heart Rate: 129.
THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 6, 2014 - Eccentric Lower
After my long rant yesterday I still ate some junk at work today, but I'll control it. Today's workout went OK. It's not much of a calorie burner. I'm still weak because of my cold so I decided to try some P90X Recovery Formula after the workout. I got it with my P90X3 kit, but had never tried it. I thought it might make me feel a bit better since I was drained. It tastes good and after drinking a bit of it I feel like it might help. I can definitely feel a difference.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 238; Avg Heart Rate: 113; Max Heart Rate: 136.
FRIDAY - FEBRUARY 7, 2014 - Incinerator
I'm feeling a bit better and getting some of my stamina back. I wasn't even thinking about my cold during the workout, so I guess that's a good sign. The workout went well. I do need to up my weight from 25s to 30s or 35s on a few of the moves. I did increase my pushups from 20 to 22 on each of those moves. I still had a bit left in me, but time ran out. The Burnout was a killer and I had to go to my knees halfway through it.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 257; Avg Heart Rate: 112; Max Heart Rate: 187.
SATURDAY - FEBRUARY 8, 2014 - MMX
I like the workout in general, but was dreading doing all those sprawls. I didn't get them all in, but did my best. Worked up a real good sweat.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 302; Avg Heart Rate: 124; Max Heart Rate: 151.
SUNDAY - FEBRUARY 9, 2014 - X3 Ab Ripper
I'm starting to get the hang of this one. I stayed in all the sphinx moves without going to my knees. I can also feel the tightness in my abs when I'm done, so I know it's working.
Time: 15 minutes; Calories Burned: 142; Avg Heart Rate: 119; Max Heart Rate: 139.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 195.4 (-0.8 lbs)
Body Fat: 21.8% (-0.1%)
I ate a bit better towards the end of the week.

The fact that I lost a little weight this week makes me feel good. I was battling a cold most of the week, so I got winded real quickly on most of the workouts, but I did get through them. All in all, I'm happy with the week.
