MONDAY - SEPTEMBER 25, 2017 - P90X3 - Complex Upper
The next two weeks are going to be the "Elite" weeks, primarily the two Complex workouts. Today it was 90 degrees outside. My air conditioner is still not repaired, so I was wondering if it was even smart to do the workout, but I got it done. I got in five full rounds of the moves, but on the fifth round I could hardly get in any pullups. Also, on the lunges, I didn't lunge. I just pushed the weight up. I was spent when I was done.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 261; Avg Heart Rate: 124; Max Heart Rate: 154.
TUESDAY - SEPTEMBER 26, 2017 - P90X3 - Complex Lower
I didn't go all out on the Triple Skaters, only doing doubles, and not going too far, but I did OK on the other moves. I used 25's on the Knee Drops and the D S Double L's. I used 10's on the Bounding thingys, but I didn't go forward and back, because I'm uncoordinated. I just jumped straight up on those. By the end of the workout I was gassed, The heat wave is supposed to end on Thursday, so I'm looking forward to that, and getting back to normal.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 278; Avg Heart Rate: 126; Max Heart Rate: 152.
WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 27, 2017 - P90X3 - X3 Yoga
I got home a bit later than usual because I attended a retirement party for a co-worker. It was still hot and humid when I got home so I took a cold shower to cool myself down a bit. I started X3 Yoga about 39 minutes later and was drenched in sweat by the mid point. I'd started out relaxed for the first few minutes and I thought it was going to be a special workout, but then I started coming out of poses early because I was becoming uncomfortable. It was far from my best effort on this one. One things that's good though ... I haven;t had any pop/soda since Sunday. I'm realizing it's one of the causes of how I'm feeling, so I'm trying to do without it.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 102; Avg Heart Rate: 101; Max Heart Rate: 115.
THURSDAY - SEPTEMBER 28, 2017 - P90X3 - Complex Upper
The weather broke, so it's a lot cooler with some crisp air in the house. The workout went well. I felt a lot better and just got it done. I went at a pacer that was a slight bit faster than the video, so I was able to get in a full five rounds with 2 minutes to spare. I felt a bit stronger on the pullups and chinips, but I'm still nowhere near the 10 they are doing. As I did on Monday, I didn't jump in the air on the lunges, but did instead did rapid Military Presses with 25 lb dumbbells. I felt good when I was done.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 273; Avg Heart Rate: 128; Max Heart Rate: 150.
FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 - P90X3 - Complex Lower
Again, some nice cooler weather, which puts me in a better mood. I took the day off of work to play golf, but only got 9 holes in before it rained. When I got home I just took some time to relax a bit. Time I usually don't give myself. The workout was pretty much the same as Tuesday's. I'm usually OK on leg workouts, but I'm usually gasping for air on this one near the end of the third round of moves. But I didn't hit pause, and pushed through it. As with yesterday, I feel really good. I know these Complex workouts are working because I can feel the soreness in my muscles, but it's a good soreness.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 271; Avg Heart Rate: 122; Max Heart Rate: 158.
SATURDAY - SEPTEMBER 30, 2017 - P90X3 - Pilates X
I felt a little sluggish going into it. I thought I was in trouble early on because I couldn't coordinate myself on some of the rolling up moves. I couldn't get into boat, etc. Things got a little but better later on, and I even tried a few reps with my hip off the floor in the side plank moves. They weren't pretty, but I tried. My flexibility, especially in my hips is extremely bad, and it seems like it's progressively getting worse. I need to try and find some solutions.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 101; Avg Heart Rate: 99; Max Heart Rate: 134.
SUNDAY - OCTOBER 1, 2017 - P90X3 - X3 Ab Ripper
Got it done. Nothing special to report.
Time: 15 minutes; Calories Burned: 100; Avg Heart Rate: 117; Max Heart Rate: 139.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 201.2 lbs (no change)
Body Fate: 23.2% (+0.4%)
Going the wrong way.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
These workouts are tough, but at the end of them you feel like you accomplished something. Not happy about the nutritional aspect.

WEEK OF 09/18/2017 - P90X3 - ROUND 6 - WEEK 10
MONDAY - SEPTEMBER 18, 2017 - P90X3 - Eccentric Upper
The workout went well, but it was really humid in the house, so I was sweating like crazy and it affected my mindset a bit. I took a few small breaks near the end, but I got everything in. I think I used the same weights as last time, and the pullup numbers were close to the same. Still, I felt good about it.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 249; Avg Heart Rate: 124; Max Heart Rate: 146.
TUESDAY - SEPTEMBER19, 2017 - P90X3 - Triometrics
I've made it quite clear on these posts that I don't like this workout. Today. I wanted to go in with a better attitude regarding it. I thought it can't be that hard or that bad. I'd just do my best. By the time I git to the third move, the Frog Squats, that theory went out the window, I don't like floor to ceiling moves. Midway through the move my thighs were burning so I dogged the last twenty seconds or so. That continued throughout the workout. I didn't kill myself on the Slater Squats and the Jacks, just because I didn't want to. Not a good thing.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 238; Avg Heart Rate: 117; Max Heart Rate: 136.
WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 20, 2017 - P90X3 - Incinerator
Unlike yesterday's workout, I like this one. It can be tough, but I feel like I accomplished something when I'm done with it. I bought a pair of 50 lb dumbbells a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd try them out on the first move, the Renegade Rows. I'd always used 25's before. I got through all the reps, with a break after the 7th rep, but my form wasn't great. I was a bit more up on my toes, than in a true flat plank. Still, I tried. I also used the 50's on the Rocket Launcher Rows and the A-Presses. After I was done with the A-Presses, I put the weights to my side, but had them standing upright on their ends instead of lying flat on the floor. I don't know why I did that, but when I rolled over to get up, one of them toppled onto my arm, putting a nice cut on it. It could have been worse, and I finished the workout OK, but I think I'm going to be black and blue there for a while.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned:242; Avg Heart Rate: 120; Max Heart Rate: 152.
THURSDAY - SEPTEMBER 21, 2017 - P90X3 - X3 Yoga
I tried relaxing and breathing at the beginning, but I always find myself trying to be too perfect, holding my breath, and being too rigid in the poses. My balance was absolutely horrible in the balance poses section. But, my attitude was good. Eating is getting bad again. Not horrible, but definitely too much soda.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 94; Avg Heart Rate: 101; Max Heart Rate: 118.
FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 22, 2017 - P90X3 - Eccentric Lower
I got through it OK. I'm glad this was one of the easier workouts for me, as my mood wasn't the greatest. Just a few strange days lately where I feel like I'm out of synch with everything, but I'll get a good night's rest and hopefully be refreshed tomorrow.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 214; Avg Heart Rate: 106; Max Heart Rate: 138.
SATURDAY - SEPTEMBER 23, 2017 - P90X3 - MMX
I'm still felling a bit off. Just a lot of minor nuisances going on at the same time. My comcentration level is bad and I can't seem to get out of my own way. A lot of that is because I'm pissed at myself because I'm eating like crap. The crap makes my body feel bad and the fact I'm doing it makes my mind feel bad. I'm just not feeling good about myself right now. The good thing is that I know I can change all of it. This workout is a Jekyll and Hyde thing with me. I like the punching, and kicking moves, but I hate the Sprawls. Including the Burnout Round, there's almost seven minutes of Sprawl moves. I can usually get through them OK, and I did so today, but it just seems a bit much. For that reason, I really wasn't looking forward to the workout. I actually thought about substituting the Sprawl moves with repeat punching and kicking moves, just to see how it would work, but I ultimately decided to push myself to do them. I didn't want to totally give in.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 270; Avg Heart Rate: 120; Max Heart Rate: 144.
SUNDAY - SEPTEMBER 24, 2017 - P90X3 - X3 Ab Ripper
Nothing special today. I got through all the moves.
Time: 15 minutes; Calories Burned: 84; Avg Heart Rate: 102; Max Heart Rate: 122
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 201.2 (+1.6 lbs)
Body Fat: 22.8% (+0.45)
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
Bad mindset for most of the week. If I was eating better, I'd be feeling better abd dealing with things better. I guess I'm just feeling trapped a bit. I don't want to be eating like a monk.

WEEK OF 09/11/2017 - P90X3 - ROUND 6 - WEEK 9
MONDAY - SEPTEMBER 11, 2017 - P90X3 - Total Synergistics
I'm really feeling mentally discouraged and pissed off at myself after yesterday's weigh-in. I went into work today hoping to slow things down mentally and get back on track, but after 15 minutes I was stressed out again. I'm really feeling like crap and I just compounded it today at work. I decided to take a vacation day tomorrow to play some golf. I just need a mental re-adjustment. Today's workout was a bit of a surprise, as I wasn't feeling defeated throughout it. I was actually trying hard, even though I struggled on a lot of the moves (pullups, half-moons).
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 250; Avg Heart Rate: 121; Max Heart Rate: 149.
TUESDAY - SEPTEMBER 12, 2017 - P90X3 - Agility X
This should be one of my favorite workouts, but it's not. There's a lot of foot coordination and balance involved, neither on which I have, so there's a lot of moves I struggle with. Joel Jumps are almost impossible for me. I try moving front and back on them, but I constantly lose my balance, and there's no way I can bend and out my hand on the floor. I just do the best I can.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 262; Avg Heart Rate: 121; Max Heart Rate: 144.
WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 13, 2017 - P90X3 - The Challenge
I picked lower numbers again, 20 pushups and 4 pullups, wanting to concentrate on good form rather than speed. I tried something different on the pullups bu curling my wrist a bit further on the bar. This allowed me to pull more, instead of relying so much on my fingers gripping the bar. It worked very well. I got all the pullups in without coming off the bar, and I felt stronger on them, even doing the wide ones. The pushups were a different story. For some reason they were tiring me out real quick. I had to pause several times during each set, but I git them all in. As per usual with this workout, I went at a faster pace than they did, taking smaller breaks between each move. I finished the four sets while they were finishing up the third. Because I was wondering if the 20 pushup sets were too low, I did 10 more pushups of each kind while they were finishing up the fourth set. I got 10 sets done in the burnout round, as I usually do. Overall, it was a good workout. I'm pleased, but still wondering a bit about why the pushups were so hard..
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 190; Avg Heart Rate: 115; Max Heart Rate: 144.
THURSDAY - SEPTEMBER 14, 2017 - P90X3 - X3 Yoga
My balance was really bad, and my flexibility was really bad. However, my attitude wasn't real bad. So, it wasn't a great workout, but it could have been worse.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 127; Avg Heart Rate: 106; Max Heart Rate: 125.
FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 15, 2017 - P90X3 - CVX
The workout went OK. I used an 8 lb medicine ball as my weight. I tired and stopped for a few seconds on a few of the moves (Press Jacks), but got through the others with no problems. On the first set of the Crescent Chairs I didn't use a weight because my shoulders were burning, but I kept losing my balance. I used the ball on the second set and got most of them in.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 276; Avg Heart Rate: 126; Max Heart Rate: 148.
SATURDAY - SEPTEMBER 16, 2017 - P90X3 - The Warrior
As I've said before, this one wears me out quickly, and I don't like a of of the moves. I did better than usual. I tried to push through areas I normally wouldn't have. It wasn't a great effort, but it wasn't bad, either.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 247; Avg Heart Rate: 120; Max Heart Rate: 146.
SUNDAY - SEPTEMBER 17, 2017 - P90X3 - X3 Ab Ripper
Once again I did OK, which seems the be the theme of the week. I came out of the Sphinx Crunches once for a few seconds, otherwise I did all the moves without coming out of any of them.
Time: 15 minutes; Calories Burned: 72; Avg Heart Rate: 101; Max Heart Rate: 125.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 199.6 (-4.2 lbs)
Body Fat: 22.4% (-0.7%)
I didn't do that great. I think last week's weigh in was an abberation and it's corrected itself. I'm up 0.8 lbs from 2 weeks ago.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
I was a bit afraid I'd put on more weight on top of last week, so I was a bit relieved. Again, all the workouts went "OK". I don't think I improved on any of them, but I did get all the moves in witn no problems. While it would be nice to improve each week, I guess it's not realistic.

WEEK OF 09/04/2017 - P90X3 - ROUND 6 - WEEK 8
MONDAY - SEPTEMBER 4, 2017 - P90X3 - Isometrix
Labor Day. I started late in the day on this one. I wasn't dreading it, but wasn't really motivated to do it. It went OK. I've done better in the past, and I've done worse. I came out of a few of the plank moves early. My balance on my right leg was pretty good. On the left, not so good, but I was trying. Overall, I was pleased with the effort.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 205; Avg Heart Rate: 117; Max Heart Rate: 144.
TUESDAY - SEPTEMBER 5, 2017 - P90X3 - Accelerator
This one has always been tough for me. Today I let it get the best of me. I started off OK, then didn't finish the Spin Stops, then didn't finish a few of the other moves. Not my best effort.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 246; Avg Heart Rate: 121; Max Heart Rate: 141.
WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 6, 2017 - P90X3 - Dynamix
Probably the "easiest" X3 workout, but I still struggle with some of the moves because of my balance. On top of that, there's a few plank moves (groiners, pigeons, groiner pushups) that I just dread. I felt good today, though, and just got through them without hating them. Overall, it's the best I've done on this routine in a long time.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 133; Avg Heart Rate: 103; Max Heart Rate: 134.
THURSDAY - SEPTEMBER 7, 2017 - P90X3 - Pilates X
Not great. There are a lot of moves I "cheat" on, especially the side plank ones. I'm not flexible moving my legs up/down, front/back on those moves, so I keep falling out of the plank. On the others I did OK, but the motivation wasn't real high today. It's one of those days where that happens.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 102; Avg Heart Rate: 101; Max Heart Rate: 132.
FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 8, 2017 - P90X3 - Decelerator
I was really looking forward to playing golf this morning and a much needed get-away from the stresses of the office, but we got rained out. I figured I'd use the vacation day for later in the year, so I went into the office, ate like crap, big time, most of the day, and was totally uninspired to do my workout when I got home. I guess the best way to describe it was that I went through the motions. I don't think I pushed myself on any of the moves, and didn't even finish the full 60 seconds on any of the pullup moves. I could beat myself up, but I'm not going to. I've been eating bad all week. That's the problem. It's making me feel sluggish physically, and mentally I'm feeling like why bother? I know I'm better than that, so I'll take a step back and recover.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 213; Avg Hear Rate: 114; Max Heart Rate: 146.
SATURDAY - SEPTEMBER 9, 2017 - P90X3 - X3 Yoga
I had a fantasy football draft this morning where I continued the bad eating, but that was almost a given. I took a nap when I got home, then got into the workout in the early evening. It wasn't a great yoga session, but it was better than I was expecting. Looking forward to NFL opening day tomorrow.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 130; Avg Heart Rate: 106; Max Heart Rate: 121.
SUNDAY - SEPTEMBER 10, 2017 - Rest
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 203.8 (+5.0 lbs)
Body Fat: 23.1 % (+0.6%)
Depressing. I didn't eat well, but those are big increases. Almost too big. I'm hoping it's a temporary reading and will correct itself next week.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
I'm nervous about the weight gain. If it's real, I've really got to correct things in a hurry.
