MONDAY - MAY 25, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Ab Burner
I don't think this is going to be a favorite of mine. There are a few of the standing moves that I think are cardio only and aren't really working the abs too much. If I was in the mood for cardio, that would be one thing, but as it was, I wasn't in the mood. I just felt sluggish all the way through.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 221; Avg Heart Rate: 107.
TUESDAY - MAY 26, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Thigh Trimmer
I really don't know what to say. Very simple moves. The half hour goes very slowly because it's tedious. Tony doesn't even seem like he wants to be there. During the workout it was hurting my knees. However, I got it done and felt a little better when it was over. I have no idea how I burned 273 calories.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 273; Avg Heart Rate: 118.
WEDNESDAY - MAY 27, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Arm Toner
I knew this was going to be the toughest workout of the week, by far, so I wasn't looking forward to it. I was thinking of doing iy with bands because I just bought some new ones, but ultimately decided to push myself and use weights. I did take a few small breaks, but for the most part I went after it. I did increase my weight of some of the moves, going from 40's to 45's on the weighted back moves, from 10's to 15's on the Shoulder Fly's, and 15's to 20's on the Upright Rows. I decreased my weight from 25's to 20's on the last move, Curl, Press, Kickback, because the 25's were to heavy for me last week on the kickback's. However I did increase my rep count there from 6 to 10. Overall, it was a good workout, and unlike the last two workouts, the time moved along.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 323; Avg Heart Rate: 128.
THURSDAY - MAY 28, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Stretch
I broke a cardinal rule and was running back and forth to the stove a few times while starting dinner. I paused the workout while I did it, but it was a bit disjointed and broke my concentration a bit. Otherwise it went OK. For some reason I'm afraid to lean back and put my hands on my feat in Camel. I tried it on the repeat move, but felt my right quad tighten a bit, so I came out of it.
Time: 30 minutes: Calories burned: 176; Avg Heart Rate: 98.
FRIDAY - MAY 29, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Bun Shaper
One of my online P90X mates asked me what I was up to and I told him that I was doing Power 90 and Power Half Hour. I knew he'd done them long, long ago (on VHS), before P90X. In the back of my mind he's actually one of the reasons that inspired me to try it out. He kind of laughed and said he remembered Bun Shaper was an "ouch". I didn't find it so bad, but I can see where it can work the Bun area.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 246; Avg Heart Rate: 112.
SATURDAY - MAY 30, 2020 - POWER 90 - Fat Burning Express
I did better than last week, maybe because I was more familiar with it, and maybe because I was just feeling a bit better. I think I went lower on a few of the moves. I still didn't use a medicine ball, and I still didn't touch the floor on the side to sides. Maybe next time.
Time: 36 minutes; Calories Burned: 279; Avg Heart Rate: 111.
SUNDAY - MAY 31, 2020 - TONY HORTON - Ho' Ala Ke Kino
I can't say I was too relaxed going into it. My legs are really tired and sore. The Power Yoga is still tough for me because of the pace. I kept up with it, but those push-ups on the vinyasas get to you at that speed.
Time: 27 minutes; Calories Burned: 203; Avg Heart Rate: 108.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 166.4 (-1,2 lbs)
Body Fat: 14.6% (-0.4%)
Both are big drops, but I was kind of expecting it. I still am not eating great, but it was a bit better than previous weeks.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
This was the second time through these workouts. I think my opinion remains the sames as after the first. They don't seem like they're doing much, but I think they are. The Arm Toner is by far the toughest, the only one I'd consider P90X-ish. Bit they're not throwaway workouts either.

WEEK OF 05/18/2020 - POWER 90 - ROUND 1 - WEEK 10
MONDAY - MAY 18, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Ab Burner
My first impression wasn't good, but I'm going to withhold judgement. The production quality was similar to Power 90 with the bare room, but something seemed off a bit. There wasn't even a menu at the beginning of the DVD. It just started with the 30 minute countdown. There were sets of standing moves followed by sets of mat moves, then standing, then mat, etc. The mat moves were mostly taken from Power 90 Ab Ripper and a few P90X Ab Ripper X. The standing moves were a lot of twisting moves along with some plyo moves. It did get me winded a few times, but overall it didn't seem too intense. As I said, I'm going to withhold judgement until I see how my abs will feel in a few days. My heart rate monitor crashed, so the numbers below are estimates.
Time: 30 minutes? Calories Burned: 200?; Avg Heart Rate: 102?.
TUESDAY - MAY 19, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Thigh Trimmer
Again, nothing was hard, but I did work up a bit of a sweat. As I said yesterday, it felt like something was missing, and today I noticed the music was barely audible. I'm wondering if that's what it was yesterday. To be honest, I don't pay attention to the background music. It's just there. I'm pretty sure it was in Power 90 1-2 and 3-4. Not sure about Master Series.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 256; Avg Heart Rate: 114.
WEDNESDAY - MAY 20, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Arm Toner
Arm Toner is a bit of a misnomer, as this works the chest, back, shoulders, biceps, and triceps. There are 28 moves in the 30 minutes, so it really motors along. I took a few small breaks. I did ten reps on almost all of the moves/ I used 40's on the weighted back moves, 25's on the shoulder and bicep moves. A decent workout.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 278; Avg Heart Rate: 120.
THURSDAY - MAY 21, 2020 = POWER HALF HOUR - Stretch
Nothing new here. The sequence was good. For some reason I was very flexible today. I surprised myself.
Time: 30 minutes; Calories Burned: 120; Avg Heart Rate: 88.
FRIDAY - MAY 22, 2020 - POWER HALF HOUR - Bun Shaper
I've done the One On One Bun Shaper many times, so I was thinking I knew what to expect, and I was pretty spot on. Some of the standing moves were the same, or similar. The big difference was roughly half of this workout were on your knees mat moves. Even a lot of those were in some on Tony's later programs. Overall I liked the workout. It was simple, but I'm guessing I might feel it a bit in a few days.
Time:30 minutes; Calories Burned: 224; Avg Heart Rate: 107.
SATURDAY - MAY 23, 2020 - POWER 90 - Fat Burning Express
I read a couple reviews off Amazon before I did it. Most said it wasn't too difficult, but still made you break a bit of a sweat. That's exactly what I found to be the case. I did get a little winded a few times and my legs were getting a bit tired on the squatting moves. I didn't go too low on the squats and I didn't use a med ball. Doing both of those would have made this much harder.
Time: 36 minutes; Calories Burned: 243; Avg Heart Rate: 104.
SUNDAY - MAY 24, 2020 - TONY HORTON - Ho' Ale Ke Kino
Nothing exceptional to say. It went well.
Time: 27 minutes;lories Burned: 214; Avg Heart Rate: 110.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 167.6 (-0.4 lbs)
Body Fat: 15.0% (no change)
Still not eating well.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
I'm not sure if I like the Power Half Hour workouts. They don't seem hard, but I did get a bit winded at times, which I usually do the first time I do a workout. The Arm Toner was a lot tougher than all the other ones. Unless one uses light weights, it really didn't fit in with the other workouts. I used heavier weights. I will admit I did get sore a few days after doing some of the workouts, so they may be sneakily effective. I'm still not eating well. This is a problem. It's like a Catch 22 situation. The bad eating is causing me to feel a bit depressed and that is causing me to eat poorly. The solution is to break the cycle by eating better. I just have to do it, just like I do the workouts. I just do them.

WEEK OF 05/11/2020 - POWER 90 - ROUND 1 - WEEK 9
MONDAY - MAY 11, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Sculpt Circuit 5-6
A good worout today. I took a few mini breaks in the second half of the workout, but I did push myself. On the Lawnmowers I increased my weight from 35's to 40's. I think I did few more reps than last time on a few of the moves. I felt pretty good when done.
Time: 43 minutes; Calories Burned: 423; Avg Heart Rate: 124.
TUESDAY - MAY 12, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Sweat Cardio 5-6
Today is an anniversary of sorts for me. I started P90X 12 years ago, on 5/12/2008. Been a good journey. Today was a fun workout. Some stretching and easy cardio moves. I liked it.
Time: 45 minutes; Calories Burned: 335; Avg Heart Rate: 110.
WEDNESDAY - MAY 13, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - UML
I marked down my reps today. A lot of the moves were a fixed number of reps, but the push-ips weren't, so I figured it would give me a motivational target for the future. This isn't a real tough workout, but it does have it's moments, especially on some of the timed push-up moves. It went well today..
Time: 39 minutes; Calories Burned: 341; Avg Heart Rate: 115.
THURSDAY - MAY 14, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Cardio Intervals
I'll admit I didn't kill myself with the effort today. This isn't my favorite routine to begin with. I was feeling sluggish all the way through. My coordination and balance was off, and I had no bounce in my ankles, which frustrated me on a lot of the moves. Simple moves like Tires were hard for me. I dis modify the Plank Runs a bit. Instead og going to Chaturanga on the third move, I ran with knee to opposite elbow. It at least made the move semi interesting. I was shocked that I burned 451 calories.
Time:55 minutes; Calories Burned: 451; Avg Heart Rate: 111.
FRIDAY - MAY 15. 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Plyo Legs
I was tired when I got home, so I took a long nap. I woke up still sluggish and really didn't want to do the workout. I put it off until after 8:30, then did it. Once in, I did OK. I did all the spin moves again without a break and did a few more reps on some things than I did last week. When I was done, I felt pretty good and felt like I accomplished something. I burned almost the same amount of calories I did yesterday, in almost the same amount of time, but felt I did much more today.
Time: 51 minutes; Calories Burned: 455; Avg Heart Rate: 117.
SATURDAY - MAY 16, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Core Cardio
Mid way through I was thinking this reminded me a bit of P90X Core Synergistics, not even realizing "Core" was in the title of both workouts. I did pretty good today. I didn't relax on any of the moves, evem though there are some I don't like. Once agaii, I backtracked and repeated the first set, even though it wasn't on the DVD. I was happy with my effort.
Timr: 56 minutes; Calories Burned: 503; Avg Heart Rate: 117.
SUNDAY - MAY 17, 2020 - TONY HORTON - Ho' Ala Ke Kino
I wasn't real relaxed and was rushing it a bit. I just wanted to get through it.
Time: 27 minutes; Calories Burned: 213; Avg Heart Rate: 111
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 168.0 (+1.2 lbs)
Body Fat: 15.0% (no change)
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
This was the end of the Master Series workouts. I think I might have been a tad disappointed in them. They were tough enough that they weren't relaxing, but they weren't tough enough that you felt like you accomplished a whole lot. Many of them had moves that I simply didn't like. A lot of them were pre-versions of P90X or One On One workouts, all of which were harder. I'm still not eating well. I can't get over that hump because it doesn't seem important to me. The next three weeks are the Power Half Hour workouts, which I haven't done before, so we'll see how those go.

WEEK OF 05/04/2020 - POWER 90 - ROUND 1 - WEEK 8
MONDAY - MAY 4, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Sculpt Circuit 5-6
I really wasn't in the mood once again. I took a small nap when I got home. I was still feeling a bit sluggish when I woke up, but I threw the disc in and went at it. I used heavier weights on a lot of the moves than I did last week. There was sill a bit of room to use heavier ones in places, so I might try that next week. I took a lot of 15 to 30 second breaks near the end, but I think I did better than if I'd gone straight through and been totally exhausted.
Time: 42 minutes; Calories Burned: 34; Avg Heart Rate: 114.
TUESDAY - MAY 5, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Sweat Cardio 5-6
I was looking forward to this one today because I knew it was going to be a bit easier. It was. There was a nice warm-up and stretch, then a bit of yoga. The cardio section was fun, then there was a lot of really nice familiar stretches for the last eight or nine minutes. Sometimes workouts like this are necessary, for the mind and the body.
Time: 45 minutes; Calories Burned: 260; Avg Heart Rate: 102.
WEDNESDAY - MAY 6, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - UML
Last week I didn't give a crap. Today I was feeling better and did better. I went the full limit on the timed moves and consciously went lower on the push-ups. I'm trying to drink less pop, which I think is one reason I' feeling better.
Time: 38 minutes; Calories Burned: 250; Avg Heart Rate: 105.
THURSDAY - MAY 7, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Cardio Intervals
This is only the second time I've done this one, but I don't think I'm a fan of it. I understand the concept of the three "speeds", but I don't think the difference between them is enough to make a big difference in my heart rate. I also have problems coordinating myself physically to change speeds.
Time: 55 minutes; Calories Burned: 380; Avg Heart Rate: 110.
FRIDAY - MAY 8, 2020 - POWER 90 Master Series - Plyo Legs
I went at it pretty hard today. I did all the spin moves for the 60 seconds. I did Squat Jacks continuously for 60 seconds. I was much more coordinated than last week, when I couldn't even do Gap Jumps.
Time: 51 minutes; Calories Burned: 413; Avg Heart Rate: 116.
SATURDAY - MAY 9, 2020 POWER 90 Master Series - Core Cardio
Once again, I was feeling better than last week. Not only did I get all the moves in with a better attitude, I repeated the first set, which wasn't on the DVD. It added about seven minutes on to the workout, but that was OK. I still don't like the moves in the second set, but I did them. I felt good about the workout overall.
Time: 56 minutes; Calories Burned: 509; Avg Heart Rate: 118.
SUNDAY - MAY 10, 2020 = TONY HORTON - Ho' Ala Ki Kino
I kept putting this one off until mid-evening. I'm just mentally exhausted. The workout went OK, but the Power Yoga section is not my favorite. It goes too fast for what is supposed to be a relaxing time. At least that's what I felt today.
Time: 27 minutes; Calories Burned: 202; Avg Heart Rate: 107.
SUNDAY WEIGH IN
Weight: 166.8 (-2,8 lbs)
Body Fat: 15.0% (-0.3%)
This is the lightest I've been since I started this twelve years ago. I'm not overly excited because I'm still not eating well, and this can bounce back next week.
THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
The workouts went much netter than last week. I was more familiar with them and my mood was better. My body is sore, which is a good sign, I guess, but mentally I'm still in a bit of a funk.
